Scott Madsen is the co-founder of Next Level,
and has been the CEO since it's inception in 2004. He has worked with
student-athletes from all over the Bay Area in a plethora of sports ranging from
football, basketball, baseball and soccer, to tennis, water polo, track and field,
even alpine skiing and sports administration. His knowledge of the intricacies
of each sport are invaluable to helping his clients achieve their goals.
Scott has been serving youth since he was 18 years old. Throughout the years
he has taught elementary school physical education, created and operated youth
programs and sports camps, coached Little League baseball and CYO basketball,
and before creating Next Level, served as a high school athletic director as
well as a varsity football, baseball and basketball coach for over 20 years.
Student-Athletes under Scott's coaching tutelage have gone on to participate
in college athletics at such prestigious universities as CAL, UCLA, USF, UC Irvine,
UC Davis, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Pomona Pitzer, Azusa Pacific, University of Wyoming,
University of St. Thomas (MN), Graceland College (IA), Weber State University (UT),
Whittier College and John's Hopkins University.
Scott is currently writing a book about all aspects of the college recruiting process.
Unlike most books in this genre that tend to tailor to potential D1 scholarship
athletes, Scott's book is for all student-athletes with varying degrees of skill,
visibility and aspirations. He concentrates on the intricate details of the
recruiting process that can often be the difference between being recruited and
being overlooked. To fully encompass a wide range of schools, the sports they
offer and the methods they use to recruit their student-athletes, Scott has
interviewed hundreds of college coaches, from every sport and every level.
